      Moderately amusing mention of science fiction in the Scotsman

Alex Salmond’s choice (unwittingly, we hope) of the science fiction answer to everything, 42, as the target figure for Scotland’s percentage carbon emissions 
reduction by 2020 has helped to enable the covering of our 
country with wind turbines financed mainly by our southern milch cow – my reason for referring to these devices as “Tulchan Towers”.

On visiting the Scottish Government energy website I was amused to discover that in the same sci-fi vein the electricity it so famously fails to produce with any consistency is now defined as “electricity equivalent”.
